Funding for chapter educational activities in the 2020-2021 or 2021-2022 fiscal years

What is the COVID-19 Education Allocation?

  • In response to the COVID-19 pandemic which has prevented our chapters from meeting regularly, the Region 21 Management Team has allocated $1000.00 per chorus to reimburse chapters for educational activities that occurred anytime in the 2020-2021 or 2021-2022 fiscal years.
  • Funds will be provided to chapters who request reimbursement by April 30, 2022.
  • Funds can be used for any educational activity organized by the chapter.  This includes but is not limited to:
    • Guest speakers for virtual rehearsals
    • Online classes/seminars that are offered to the entire chapter membership
    • Purchases of music and/or learning tracks
    • Fees related to the creation of “virtual chorus” productions that do not produce income
    • Zoom subscription fees
    • Other creative educational methods that your chapter identifies
  • If the activity has not yet occurred, chapters are encouraged to open up any guest speaker events to the entire membership of Region 21 by publicizing it on social media or via email.  Fees cannot be charged to Region 21 members for events funded by this special allocation.

How Does It Work?

  • All Region 21 chartered chapters are eligible for this allocation.  
  • Prospective chapters are not eligible to receive funding, but their members can attend events that other chapters organize.
  • Each chorus is responsible for organizing the activity.
  • There is a $1000.00 per chapter cap on this allocation.  If chorus utilizes funds beyond $1000 on educational activities, only $1000 will be reimbursed.
  • For future virtual-rehearsal events funded by this program, it’s encouraged that you welcome other Region 21 members to the event at no charge.  Notify the following people with details on the activity.  They will help to spread the word across the region.
  • After the payment has been made by the chorus, request reimbursement by performing both of the following TWO actions
